Wat Phu Khao Thong ✨️, also known as Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan, is another famous temple in Bangkok. It's not just the majestic Phu Khao Thong pagoda that stands atop it, but it also boasts a rich history.
If you're here, don't miss the chance to climb to the top to pay homage to the Buddha's relics. The climb is a winding staircase with over three hundred steps, but it's not tiring at all :) It's a pleasant walk, and there's even a resting point where you can ring the bell for good luck. 🔔
.
🌄 Once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with a 360-degree view of Bangkok. Coming in the evening is the best time to see the sky change colors and the sun setting. It was rainy on our visit, and the sky was a bit overcast. However, you can still see the lush greenery surrounding Bangkok.

💡 Tips for those wanting to visit #Wat Phu Khao Thong:
- We recommend coming in the late afternoon or evening for the perfect timing, as the light is beautiful and the heat is minimal.
- Free admission for Thais. 💰
- Even without a car, it's easy to get there. We took MuvMi, an electric tuk-tuk that dropped us off right in front of the temple. The price is reasonable.
- There's a place to make merit at the top. Make offerings to the monks.
- Around the temple, there are other interesting spots, such as various Buddha statues, the Wat Saket vulture zone, massage parlors, and dessert shops.
- After sightseeing, head to the Giant Swing area for some delicious food.
