When Differences Are the Root of Beauty, Explore the Diversity of Identity Through the Perspective of Cubism with the Exhibition “Diversity” by Artist Nawat Cubic (Nawat Mahatamavadee)
“Diversity” comes from the personal inspiration of the artist who has seen the world differently since childhood. He used to feel alienated because his work was unique. Eventually, he learned that his drawing style was a form of art called Cubism, pioneered by artists like Pablo Picasso. As he grew up, he encountered people from various cultures and began to question the differences in the world. He realized that diversity is the beauty that connects people.
In this exhibition, the artist conveys the beauty of cultural diversity, race, and belief through clothing, skin color, and elements that reflect the unique identities of people from various parts of the world. He invites us to explore the diversity of identities, ponder through geometric drawings, but are connected by the same feeling: humanity.
The exhibited works are presented through contemporary cubism, which combines the principles of cubism with modern techniques and adds elements of texture to create movement. Multiple layers of acrylic paint are used. To create dimension and power in the image, along with patterns that move our eyes along various geometric shapes, with a highlighted work such as the largest painting in the artist's life, measuring 6 meters long. Almost all of the works have been collected by foreign museums since the first day, but you can still visit until April 27, 2025.
This exhibition is like a space for us to see diversity as beauty, not conflict. We will experience the power of looking at the world through a new perspective, see emotions and identities, and most importantly, learn that accepting differences is creating understanding as a human being.
