Magnificient Temple in the Caves

#temples

This was the most impressive thing about Kuala Lumpur. Sure there is the food and the bukit bintang area, over crowded tourist traps like jalan alor and high rises etc. But this temple site was something else. I mean it’s literally a giant, golden statue next to a rainbow themed staircase leading to Hindu temples inside limestone caves. How bizarre and artistic at the same time. The sheer size of the statue is overwhelming.

While it is an easy trip from Kuala Lumpur city. The hike up the stairs can be a bit of a workout and leave your legs sore. For me, I was glad i went there. I didn't know much about it. So it was a learning experience in that sense. But it’s also a beautiful sight to see and experience for yourself. The limestone looks as though it’s dripping off the cliff wall, the statue of Lord Murugan looks even more massive in person, and the steps and temples as colorful as the rainbow.

Dress accordingly, I believe it requires that your knees be covered. Also keep the weather in mind. It can get very hot in malaysia during summer. The ride here was on the KTM train which was cheap and comfortable. Otherwise there are bus tours or private taxi options as well. Lastly, this is a free activity! No entrance fees or such. #temples #batucaves #cuti²malaysia #kuala_lumpur #summerdestinations #100waysoftravel
