# Post-Trip Review: My Amazing Winter Adventure in China
Spending the last days of 2024 and welcoming the New Year in China was truly an unforgettable experience! I had initially debated between visiting Japan, Korea, or China, but now, after my 9-day journey through Shanghai and Beijing, I can confidently say I made the right decision—China exceeded all my expectations!
From the moment I arrived, I fell in love with the rich culture, delicious food, and the beautiful winter weather. Every corner of the country tells a story, blending deep history with modern development in a way that’s absolutely mesmerizing.
Shanghai: A City of Glamour and Lights
Shanghai was a fantastic introduction to China’s vibrancy. I explored all the must-visit attractions—the Bund, Oriental Pearl Tower, Yu Garden, Nanjing Road, and even Disneyland. The futuristic skyline and the lively energy of the city were stunning, and the mix of colonial architecture and skyscrapers was fascinating.
But despite how incredible Shanghai was…
Beijing Stole My Heart!❤️
If I had to choose between the two cities, Beijing won me over. The historical depth, majestic palaces, and cultural charm were on another level. Walking through the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace felt like stepping back in time. And of course, hiking the Great Wall of China was the highlight of my trip—it’s truly a breathtaking wonder of the world!
The food was another highlight—Peking duck in Beijing was out of this world, and I loved every bite of the traditional dumplings, hotpot, and local snacks from the bustling markets.
Final Thoughts
China in winter was magical, and this trip made me appreciate the country so much more than I expected. While Japan and Korea are incredible in their own ways, I’m so glad I chose China this time. The culture, food, history, and experiences were beyond what I had imagined.
Would I go back? Absolutely! There’s still so much more to explore, and I can’t wait for my next adventure in China! #travel #china #thingstodo
