Gubei Water Town: A Magical World of Ice and Snow – Winter Play Guide!❄️
Winter in the north is perfect for visiting Gubei Water Town~ Compared to the summer crowds, the Water Town in winter transforms into an ice and snow fairy tale world, with fewer people and beautiful scenery. Every casual shot turns into a masterpiece!
🌟Stunning Ice and Snow Photo Spots:
1️⃣Simaxiaoshao Distillery Square - Giant Ice Sculpture Installation
Every winter, ice sculpture groups with different themes are set up. This year's theme is the Winter Olympics!🐧 Remember to wear light-colored clothes for better photos.
2️⃣Main Road of the Water Town - A Spectacle of Ice Hangings Along the Entire Street
The icicles on the eaves sparkle in the sunlight✨ The best time for photos is between 2-3 PM.
3️⃣Yanqi Lake Ice Rink - Beijing's Largest Natural Ice Rink
You must try ice biking and dog sledding🛷 It's recommended to go around 4 PM to capture the stunning scene of the sunset glow on the ice.
4️⃣Riyue Island Square - Lantern Festival Feast (6:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
The colorful lanterns after nightfall are absolutely stunning! It's recommended to wear Hanfu for a more artistic photo.
🏡Accommodation Tips:
Highly recommend staying inside the scenic area! It's super convenient to walk back to your hotel after watching the lantern festival at night~ We stayed at Hanggu Villa, and you can see the Great Wall night view from the room🌌
🍲Must-Try Foods:
Gubei Roasted Pear (the most authentic one is next to Qiaotou Cake)
Simagang Restaurant's Mini Hot Pot (128/person, great value)
Hawthorn Candied Haws (the freshly made ones at Riyue Island Square are the best)
🚗Transportation Guide:
Self-driving is recommended, navigate to "Gubei Water Town P1 Parking Lot"
Alternatively, take the tourist special line from Dongzhimen (48 RMB/person, 2-hour direct ride)
