You can enjoy your trip to Beppu even if you don't go to the hot springs. The Jigoku Onsen Tour is a natural phenomenon that is literally 'amazing just to look at'. The red water boiling in the Bloody Hell and the blue smoke-filled Bald Hell create an atmosphere like a movie set. The hot steam fills the surroundings, making it perfect for taking pictures.

There is an experience center nearby where you can taste hot spring steamed dishes. It was refreshing to have the experience of cooking eggs or sweet potatoes in the seaweed yourself. It is not too salty, so it is a snack that you can eat without feeling burdened during your trip.

As I walked, I noticed a few small and cute cafes, and it was nice to take a break while having a cup of warm coffee at a local cafe near the Jigoku Onsen. There were many places with cute Japanese desserts and props, so it was satisfying to both my eyes and mouth.

Beppu is a city where you can walk quietly and rest. Even if you don't go to the hot springs, if you are looking for a trip where you can slowly see, taste, and rest, it is not a waste to stay for a day.
