Drawn by a glowing 4.7-star Google rating, I ventured into Lily’s Traditional Fish & Chips in Blackpool—a modest shop nestled between two alleyways, flanked by two other fish and chip contenders. But Lily’s stood out, not just for its reputation, but for its warmth and generosity.
I ordered the classic set: a huge portion of fish and chips for £11.75. The fish arrived golden and crisp, its batter light yet satisfying, encasing tender, flaky cod. The chips were thick-cut, perfectly salted, and served piping hot. No frills—just honest, traditional flavour done right.
Despite the competition on either side, Lily’s felt personal. Staff were friendly, the service quick, and the seating simple but clean. Locals popped in with familiarity, and the aroma alone could convince any passerby to stop.
