🌄✨ Finally at Borobudur — One of the Four Great Wonders of the East Borobudur

Borobudur, built in the 7th century BC, is a magnificent Buddhist temple shaped like a giant lotus flower 🌸🕌 Legend says it once stood surrounded by lakes, with nine towering levels.

The lower six levels are square-shaped, each wall covered in intricate stone carvings telling Buddhist stories 📜🗿 The top three levels are circular, dotted with niches holding countless Buddha statues 🧘♂️🙏

As I climbed the temple steps, rain began to fall 🌧️. The surrounding green forests and misty mountains added a mysterious, solemn atmosphere—like stepping into a sacred secret.

With each step up, I marveled at the exquisite reliefs and the sheer number of statues. I couldn’t believe this colossal masterpiece had survived centuries buried beneath volcanic ash, so well preserved!

At the summit, the rain eased, and the eastern sky brightened ☀️🌅 Looking out beyond the Buddha statues, the clouds parted to reveal Mount Merapi—two majestic volcanic peaks standing guard.

In that moment, it felt clear: what has protected Borobudur for a thousand years isn’t just the devotion of people, but also the surrounding jungle and these mighty volcanoes 🌿🌋
