Changting·Ancient City is a small city where every night scene is beautiful.
Changting City, also known as 'Tingzhou Prefecture', is known as the 'World Hakka Capital'. It enjoys the titles of 'Fujian Gourmet City', 'Hometown of the Red Army', 'Red Little Shanghai', etc. It is one of the beautiful small cities once praised by Louis Alley. Of course, if you want to travel and experience the beautiful scenery of Tingzhou City, the first recommendation is to take a boat to tour the Ting River at night, which I think is the most intuitive way to feel the night view of Tingzhou Ancient City.
As night falls, board a cruise ship at Huiji Gate Wharf, and sail up the Ting River that was dredged by the people led by the Song Dynasty's chief justice and Changting County magistrate Song Ci. Pass Song Ci's painting boat, Song Ci's sailing stack, pass through the ancient bridge in front of Jichuan Gate, and slowly sail past Longtan with the cruise ship. The stilted buildings, towering ancient trees, and weeping willows on both banks are looming under the unpredictable night lights, making you feel like you're in a fairyland. After the cruise, get off the boat and walk along the ancient city wall of Tingzhou to Jichuan Gate. Jichuan Gate, built in the third year of Song Zhiping, is a landmark historical building of Changting County. Jichuan Gate is the most important traffic artery of Tingzhou, connecting the ancient city wall from north to south, witnessing the thousand-year prosperity of Tingzhou Prefecture.
