Travel from Shantou to Chaozhou often includes Shantou's small parks and ancient buildings in Chaozhou Ancient City, allowing visitors to travel back and forth between the two cities and experience the unique charm of both. ✨ However, halfway along this stretch, near the Chaoshan High-Speed ​​Railway Station, there's a town called Longhu Town. Hmm, not Longhu District in Shantou, but Longhu Town. There's a small, documented ancient town called Longhu Ancient Village. 🎈
Drivers in Chaozhou or Shantou often say this ancient town is boring and that visiting Chaozhou's ancient city is more interesting. However, I still recommend stopping by along the way. 🚗
From Shantou MixC, take a taxi. 🚖 It took just an hour and cost 70 yuan to get there. This ancient town is particularly noteworthy for its century-old Jinshi Mansion and neatly landscaped ancient streets and alleys. There's no commercialization.
🎇 There aren't many sales pitches, but there are plenty of souvenirs, depending on your preferences.
🎇 There are only a few restaurants for food, and you can enjoy a full plate of Chaoshan snacks.
🎇 About 30-60 minutes is just right. 😎
You can even circle the outer Longhu Lake. The small bridges and flowing water are newly constructed, and on a clear day, they're incredibly beautiful. Combined with the ancient streets, the view is truly filled with ancient charm. The town itself is very quiet, with only a few residents riding bicycles and no cars. 😎 There are still quite a few local residents within the ancient village, much like Shiyihe Village in Shantou. Not all buildings and houses are accessible for viewing or tea. ☕

It's worth stopping by between the two ancient cities. You can take a taxi from the north gate of the ancient village to the Paifang Street entrance in Chaozhou Ancient City for 30 yuan for half an hour. 🚗
So remember this itinerary. ✨

If you take a taxi directly from Shantou MixC to Chaozhou Ancient City, the cost, including the highway and return fare, might be 150 yuan. 🤔

However, in Shantou, a taxi to Longhu Ancient Village is 70 yuan first, followed by another 30 yuan to Chaozhou Ancient City, for a total of 100 yuan, excluding the highway toll. 😏

You can visit both attractions simultaneously, making it super convenient. 😃
