|Booked a five-star hotel at half price. I have always had a special liking for state guesthouses and will give priority to them whenever I travel to a city. When I saw the room rate, I was surprised that Chengdu's room rate was really great value. It was even more than 200 yuan cheaper than the Hilton Garden Inn in Dujiangyan Scenic Area. I didn't believe it until I confirmed it with the hotel staff.
The doorman immediately helped us with our luggage when he saw us.
The hotel has a unified antique style, old-fashioned decoration, and the usual seven-star service. We were also given a room upgrade. I can’t remember how many times I have been upgraded, but this is the first time I have been upgraded during a holiday trip.
The hotel breakfast was super rich. Because the chef didn't understand what I meant by clear soup noodles, I reported it to the staff and they made a big bowl of noodles again. The clear soup of Dandan noodles was also difficult for the chef. When we went downstairs, we went to the second floor as we understood it, and went straight to the Jinjiang Hall. We couldn't find the restaurant, so we called the hotel, and the concierge came to pick us up and took us to the restaurant door. I am really grateful to all the hotel staff.
