A hotel even students can afford? This is extraordinary.

A super detailed review of my stay at the first Marriott hotel in Chengdu. I was so pleasantly surprised!

I recently stayed at the first Marriott hotel in Chengdu, and the experience was fantastic. I just had to share it with everyone.

💰️Price per person:
Prices start from CNY 488. If you can find a deal, it's super cost-effective. Not only can you enjoy a complimentary breakfast, but you can also earn points. It's a really good value.

🏘️️️Room Type/Layout:
The room layout was perfect for me. It's a standard Marriott style design. As soon as you enter, you see the "luxurious" carpet, a comfortable large sofa, and an oval bathtub. The whole room looks very new, even better than the Renaissance hotel I stayed at before.

🛌Amenities/Facilities:
The hotel facilities are comprehensive. Although I didn't have time to try the pool this time, it's definitely on my must-do list for next time. I have to give special praise to the lounge. It's the second lounge that has impressed me so much, after the Sheraton in Shaoxing. The hot dishes were varied, including steak, spicy pork throat, braised beef brisket, fried chicken legs, dry-fried green beans, and spicy shrimp. There were also many beautiful desserts. Everything was delicious. The lounge is spacious and has a comfortable atmosphere. You don't have to queue even during meal times. The experience was superb.

🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness:
The soundproofing was excellent. I could barely hear any noise from outside, so I could rest peacefully. The cleanliness was also very good. The room was spotless, making for a very comfortable stay.

💗Other tips:

1. Reception service: The service from the receptionist was outstanding. I have to give her full marks! The check-in process was very smooth. After I provided my documents, she quickly checked my booking details and, as per my request on the app, changed the twin beds to a double bed. She also thoughtfully arranged a room on the top floor. When I inquired about the New Year's Eve dinner menu, she quickly helped me with my inquiry and got back to me. She also explained the locations of the lounge and breakfast restaurant in detail.
2. Turndown service: This was my first experience with turndown service, and it was a wonderful surprise. When I returned to my room, the curtains were drawn, the lights were dimmed, and slippers and sleep-inducing aromatherapy were placed by the bed. It was a very thoughtful touch that made me feel happy.
3. Location: The hotel is located opposite Intime City, which is very convenient. It's not far from various attractions, and taxis are affordable, making it very easy to get around.
4. Breakfast experience: Breakfast ends at 10:30 am. I went at 10:15 am, and there was still a wide variety of food available. There were beef pancakes, sweet dumplings, freshly squeezed orange and cucumber juice, ice cream, eggs Benedict, braised beef noodles, bobo chicken (a cold spicy chicken dish), boneless chicken feet, and various desserts. Although the dishes were a bit oily, more suited to the Sichuan and Chongqing palate, the quality of the food from the five-star hotel chefs was guaranteed, and it tasted very good.
