The Retreat of the Great Poet in Sichuan

Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the former residence of Du Fu, a renowned Tang Dynasty poet known as the 'Poet Sage,' during his retreat in Sichuan. It has now been developed into a cultural park centered around Du Fu's life and works. The park features a reconstructed thatched hut 🛖 where Du Fu once lived, along with several halls showcasing his poetry, later evaluations, and artistic sculptures. The area is adorned with towering ancient trees 🌳, swaying shadows 🌲, and lush greenery. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of small bridges over flowing streams, red walls, and green tiles, creating a serene and timeless atmosphere. The park also includes a tea house 🍵, a cultural and creative product shop 🛍, and exhibits of a Tang Dynasty village site, making it an excellent destination for exploring Tang culture. Guided tours are available for ¥30 per person, offering an informative experience led by professional guides—highly recommended.
