Thailand Sleeping TrainšŸš‚ Bangkok->Chiang Mai feat. 12 hours

I took the night sleeper train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Thailand. It’s not cheaper than a plane, and it takes 12 hours, but as a long-term backpacker, I couldn’t give up the romance..!

It’s even more delicious to buy various snacks at convenience stores and on the street before boarding and eat them on the train. If you take the night train, you can also see the sunset while you’re traveling. In the evening, the train crew will personally transform the chair into a bed! Of course, you’ll have to wake up in the morning^^; It’s small, but the bathroom is clean and air-conditioned.
I don’t think you necessarily need a first-class seat, and I personally recommend the first-floor second-class car on the new train. However, the first-floor car has windows and is comfortable, so it’s popular, so make a reservation in advance on the website!! I’ve used both the first and second floors, and I definitely like the first-floor car because it has windows. The Chiang Mai train station we arrived at early in the morning was so beautiful :)
