Wat Rong Khun

Wat Rong Khun, Chiang Rai Province
It is one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand. It was designed and built by Ajarn Chalermchai Khositphiphat, a famous Thai painter. The highlight of Wat Rong Khun is the ordination hall decorated with white as the main floor, decorated with beautiful and unusual shiny glass. The stucco is decorated with Thai patterns, especially the image of the Lord Buddha behind the large principal Buddha image. The area above the ordination hall is decorated with mythical animals, half elephant, half bird raising their trunks and tusks, looking beautiful and unusual. There are also murals inside the ordination hall, which were painted by Ajarn Chalermchai Khositphiphat himself.
