Wat Phra Chao Lan Thong, a temple about 500 years old, is an important temple that is the heart of Chiang Saen because it is the location of the navel of Chiang Saen city. History: Phra Chao Thong Ngua or Phraya Kri Rabat Ngoen Kong, the son of Phra Chao Tilokarat, built it in 2032. He had a bronze Buddha image cast that weighed a million gold or approximately 1,200 kilograms, with a lap width of 2 meters and a height of about 3 meters. He named it "Phra Chao Lan Thong" and it is the principal Buddha image in the royal chapel. In addition, inside the temple, there is another bronze Buddha statue that was obtained from Wat Thong Thip, which is an abandoned temple. It is called "Phra Chao Thong Thip". It is a Buddha statue with a beautiful face in the style of a Sukhothai Buddha statue.
