Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet

The place I visited this time is the Golden Triangle, the golden triangle of the northern part of Chiang Mai.

Countries that border Thailand include Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Malaysia.

Among them, there is a place called the Golden Triangle in the northern part of Chiang Rai where you can see the border between Laos and Myanmar.

The Golden Triangle is literally a golden delta. The three countries are divided by the river, and the river sediments have accumulated to form a delta.

In the past, this area was famous for opium cultivation, and gold was used in the opium trade, so it was called the Golden Delta.

It is where the Mekong River and the Ruak River meet, and you can see the Ruak River being so turbid that the waters do not mix.

It feels a little dangerous and awkward to see the border in Korea,
but overseas borders are simpler than you think and there is no barbed wire that we think of, so it was interesting.

You can go to Laos by boat without a passport,
and they say you can drink Laotian beer there. (I didn't have to..)

I rented a taxi in Chiang Rai city and it cost 1400 baht.

It took about two hours round trip.
