The Shikotsu Lake Visitor Center (支笏湖ビジターセンター) is a natural interpretation facility located in the Shikotsu Lake Hot Spring area in Chitose City, Hokkaido. It provides detailed information on volcanic topography, ecosystems, and Shikotsu Lake's four-season landscapes. This is a great starting point for traveling to the Shikotsu Lake National Park area. Whether you are climbing, hiking, or just visiting the lake, it is very suitable to come here first to understand the environmental background.

The museum has models, display boards, and video playback areas, and also provides information on trails and climbing around Shikotsu Lake. I especially recommend a corner of the rest area, where there is a self-service coffee machine that provides hot and cold drinks. You can spend a little money to buy a cup of coffee and sit by the window while enjoying the view of Shikotsu Lake and relaxing. It is very comfortable. Whether it is winter snow viewing or summer heat relief, sitting in the museum and watching the lake and mountain shadows change is a kind of enjoyment.
