Lake Shikotsu, Hokkaido

I would like to introduce the "Chitose Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival" held at Lake Shikotsu in Hokkaido.
You can get there by bus from Chitose Station, which takes about 50 minutes.
If you are driving, I recommend that you enter "Lake Shikotsu Onsen" into your car navigation system before going there☺️✨
Lake Shikotsu is the second deepest lake in Japan, so the surface of the lake does not freeze even in winter, but
you can see a row of various objects of various sizes frozen by spraying water from Lake Shikotsu with sprinklers.
I went during the day, and the blue color of Lake Shikotsu shone brightly, creating a truly mysterious space, but at night it is lit up and you can enjoy the fantastic sight.
There is also an area where children can experience a skating rink and ice slides only, so children can enjoy it too.
It is easily accessible from New Chitose Airport, and the area around the venue is a hot spring resort. There are also facilities that can be used as day-trip hot springs, so be sure to stop by a hot spring on your way home 🌟
