First Love in Hokkaido

Have you watched the Japanese drama "First Love"?
I'm totally addicted! I have watched it three times 😂
The story takes place in Hokkaido, Japan.
The film "Love Letter" was also filmed in this snowy world.
Why is Hokkaido a place?
Does it always give people the feeling of being in love?

I've been to Hokkaido once.
I went there on what should have been the happiest day of my life!
It happened to be the Lunar New Year holiday in Hong Kong.
It’s my first time to celebrate New Year away from home.
Want to feel the New Year atmosphere in Japan?
But it turns out that the Japanese celebrate New Year on a different day
(Thought they were the same 😝!
It turns out that the Japanese New Year is from January 1st to 15th of the Gregorian calendar.)

The most unforgettable thing about this trip is,
I went to #ChitoseShikotsu Lake Ice Festival!
Every year from January to February,
There is an ice and snow festival held here every year!
In order to facilitate participation in this festival,
We also arranged to stay at a nearby hot spring hotel.
Because the ice and snow festival day and night is worth seeing!

Chitose Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival,
It is located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, about 40 minutes by car from Sapporo.
This is an ice and snow festival held at Lake Shikotsu Onsen.

The ice sculptures in the venue were created by spraying and freezing water from Lake Shikotsu in Japan.
There are slides made of ice, skating rinks where you can skate in long boots, and even ice castles. I saw Japanese children having a lot of fun!

We were lucky that night.
When fireworks are launched,
Although it was only about five minutes,
It has added rich color to this journey!

Revisiting the photos from that time again,
Although it is minus eight degrees,
Those smiles are so warm.
The lights plus the snow always give people a dreamy feeling.
And those heart-pounding moments,
Maybe the feeling of love is not just because of one place,
It’s because I chose the right one to go with.
