Hongyadong, Chongqing Icon

When we talk about Chongqing, what comes to our mind? Chongqing's icon and number one must-visit is Hongyadong Cave, which is incredibly popular for its unique blend of architecture, culture, and stunning views.
Built along the cliffs by the Jialing River, Hongyadong’s multi-level, stilted architecture reflects the traditional Bayu (ancient Chongqing) style. The complex appears to be “hanging” along the cliffside, with 11 stories seamlessly blending into the mountainside, giving it a unique appearance that draws many visitors.
Hongyadong is especially popular at night when it lights up with a warm, golden glow, creating a magical scene. The illuminated wooden structures against the river and city skyline resemble scenes from traditional Chinese paintings or animated movies, making it one of Chongqing’s most photogenic spots.
There are several spots to view the building, from the street level, on the bridge, and across the river, all offering a spectacular view of Hongyadong.
