Conrad Chongqing
📍Taxis cannot drop you directly at the hotel entrance, and it’s easy to confuse it with the neighboring DoubleTree hotel. Both hotels share the same owner—Conrad is the newer high-rise building, while DoubleTree is the older low-rise one.
💁 Check-in can be done directly at the 50th-floor Executive Lounge, but you’ll need to transfer elevators at the 52nd-floor Sky Lobby first.
1. During check-in, a woman cut in line wearing disposable slippers, and staff did not intervene.
2. The Executive Lounge allowed solo photography without considering other guests’ comfort—perhaps clearing the area beforehand would be better.
🏠 The room offers a 270-degree cloud-level river view. The mini-bar provides complimentary drinks, along with 5100 bottled water, TWG tea bags, and Bredo toiletries. The bedroom has relatively limited carpet coverage.
Executive Lounge:
☕️ Afternoon tea includes smoked salmon snacks, egg sandwiches, three varieties of Voss sparkling water, nuts, and tea (using TG tea bags, different from the room’s TWG).
🍴 Happy Hour features dishes like poached shrimp, Mediterranean-style braised ox tongue, stir-fried Chinese sausage with white celery, smoked sashimi, Chongqing noodles, and wontons.
🍴 Breakfast is served at the 52nd-floor Summit Restaurant, offering three types of fresh juices and options like banana-chocolate French toast.
🏊 Fitness facilities include a dry sauna, though the space is relatively compact.
Notable public areas:
The 1st-floor automatic doors reveal a 3D digital art screen—*Light-Year Journey*—which artistically blends Chongqing’s city flower (camellia) with the Liberation Monument clock. The lobby is adorned with lush greenery, fresh flowers, and an oversized Conrad bear plush. The 52nd floor has a viral-worthy escalator, while the 52nd-floor lobby bar and 53rd-floor restaurant are perfect for photos. Fresh flowers decorate the front desk, lobby bar, and dining areas.
🏘️ Room Type/Layout: The room boasts a 270-degree cloud-level river view, with limited carpet coverage in the bedroom. The hotel is a high-rise building, sharing an owner with DoubleTree but with separate entrances and no interference.
🛌 Amenities/Facilities: Complimentary mini-bar with 5100 bottled water, TWG tea bags, and Bredo toiletries. The Executive Lounge offers afternoon tea and Happy Hour, while the 52nd-floor Summit Restaurant serves breakfast. Dry sauna available. Public areas feature 3D digital art, greenery, fresh flowers, and a viral escalator.
💗 Additional tips:
- For check-in, transfer elevators at the 52nd-floor Sky Lobby to reach the 50th-floor Executive Lounge.
- The public areas are uniquely designed—great for photos, especially the 52nd-floor escalator, lobby bar, and 53rd-floor restaurant.
- The Executive Lounge and fitness facilities are not shared with DoubleTree; both changing rooms only have saunas.
- If river views are a priority, compare with Sheraton Chongqing in Yuzhong District.
- Elevators are limited, so allow extra waiting time.
