Absolutely Stunning! The Ultimate Self-Drive Guide to the Grand Canyon, USA 🏜️, the Most Spectacular "Scar" on Earth That Will Take Your Breath Away!
If you haven't been to Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, you'll truly regret it! This natural wonder, carved by the Colorado River over 6 million years, looks like a Hollywood blockbuster in every snapshot. Here’s a 3-day self-drive + hiking itinerary to explore it all~
🚗 Itinerary:
【Day 1】
📍 South Rim Trail
- Must-visit iconic section! A 13km flat trail, 3 hours to cover the main viewpoints, with multiple observation decks along the way showcasing the Colorado Plateau rock walls
- Recommended spot: Yavapai Point for sunrise, and the geology museum next to the visitor center (free!)
【Day 2】
📍 Desert View Drive
- A 25-mile scenic drive you must take, with 6 viewpoints along the route
- Key stops: Lipan Point overlooking the Colorado River bend, and the Desert View Watchtower for 360° panoramic photos
- Tip: Fill up your gas tank before departure, no gas stations along the way ⛽️
【Day 3】
📍 Bright Angel Trail
- The most classic hiking route! Descends from the South Rim to the canyon floor
- Beginners are advised to hike 1.5 miles in (about 2 hours round trip), and bring plenty of water in summer 💧
📌 Practical Tips:
1. Entrance fee is $35 per vehicle for 7 days; consider buying the $80 America the Beautiful National Parks annual pass for better value
2. Large temperature swings between day and night! In July, daytime can exceed 40°C, while nights drop to 15°C, so dress in layers 🧥
3. Strong high-altitude UV rays require sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat
4. Drones require advance permits (available on the official website), and heavy fines apply in no-fly zones ⚠️
🍔 Food Recommendations:
- Inside the park: The steak at Bright Angel Lodge is excellent (about $30 per person)
- In Williams town: Pine Country Restaurant’s cherry pie is amazing!
🏨 Accommodation Guide:
- Luxury choice: El Tovar Hotel (right on the canyon edge! Book at least six months in advance)
- Budget-friendly: Williams Motel (1-hour drive, $80/night)
The best season to visit is from April to October. Remember to leave before sunset (there are no streetlights in the canyon!). Final reminder: never imitate TikTok videos climbing over railings for photos—people fall off the cliffs every year...
