Cusco, Peru Half Day Tour

#AprilGoodDestinations2025
We arrived at the hotel at around 8 am. Due to a slight altitude sickness, we rested in the hotel in the morning. In the afternoon, we took a half-day tour of the ancient city organized by Local Tours from 12:30 to 18:30. The itinerary was quite rich.
1. Cusco Cathedral: The construction took a century and there are many precious paintings inside.
2. Temple of the Sun: It was the most revered temple in the Inca Empire. It was later demolished by Spanish colonists and a monastery was built on the original site. The walls made of huge and tightly interlocking stones still stand despite a major earthquake. From the Temple of the Sun you can see the entire ancient city of Cusco, which is visually stunning.
3. Plaza de Armas: The Inca Empire, religion, and cultural center, it is a popular check-in spot and even more lively at night.
4. Castelo de los Rojas: a huge and important military fortress of the Inca Empire. The stones of Stonehenge are not bonded together with mortar, but they fit together so perfectly that not even a piece of paper can be inserted...
5. Ancient sites around the Sun God Castle: Kenke Temple, Holy Water Temple, Post Station...
