The Dambulla Cave Temple was absolutely breathtaking!!

Dambulla is home to Sri Lanka's largest Buddhist cave temple, dating back to the 1st century BC and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
While I had seen it in videos before, visiting it in person was an overwhelming experience that left me in awe of its grandeur.
I was deeply impressed by the history and the profound faith of the Sri Lankan people.
The journey to the temple involves climbing a series of stairs, but the presence of wild monkeys and dogs along the way, as well as the beautiful scenery, makes the climb enjoyable.
There are also several stalls along the way, some selling freshly squeezed orange juice.

I recommend visiting in the cool morning hours.
Afternoons can be harsh with the strong sunlight, and since you have to go barefoot in the temple, the ground might get uncomfortably hot.

Located on the way to Sigiriya Rock from the airport, this temple is a must-visit destination.
