Dambulla Cave Temple: Sri Lanka's most sacred Buddhist site!

Speaking of Buddhist holy sites in Sri Lanka, this is it! I went to the Dambulla Cave Temple! 🛕✨
This temple is perched atop a rocky mountain, and the climb to the entrance felt like a bit of a hike. 😅🌿 After a hot, exhausting climb, I was greeted by a mystical space carved into the rock...!

Before entering, I was surprised to find that I had to take my shoes off. 👣
And they don't even offer free shoe storage! There's a small fee (tourist prices! 💸) lol
But the inside is so moving that it's well worth the hassle. ✨

The giant reclining Buddha, the murals covering the ceiling, the cool air...it was so quiet it felt like time had stopped. 😌🕯️ There was a "real atmosphere" there that photos can't capture. 🙏

From outside, you can see the city and nature, and the view is amazing. 🌄
