A Hidden Oil Painting Secret in Western Sichuan

Autumn Exclusive Romance! The Most Desired Fairy Tale Town for a One-Day Trip in October

October is autumn’s love letter to the earth, and the place I most want to rush to is Jiaju Tibetan Village in Western Sichuan, known as "China’s Most Beautiful Countryside," nestled in the Danba mountains.

Setting off from Chengdu early in the morning, traveling west along the Minjiang River Gorge, the view outside the car window is a forest dyed in layers of gold and fiery red, as if driving into the depths of an oil painting. Upon arriving at Jiaju Tibetan Village, sunlight shines on the staggered Garong Tibetan houses, with white towers, prayer flags, and stone watchtowers quietly standing amidst the autumn colors.

Strolling along the stone steps through the village paths, pear trees are already heavy with fruit, maple leaves dance lightly in the wind, and snow-capped mountains appear faintly in the distance. Standing on the viewing platform overlooking the village, the entire settlement is surrounded by colorful forests, like a fairy-tale elf castle.

At noon, enjoy butter tea, wild mushroom soup, and steaming barley wine at a Tibetan family guesthouse, with warmth spreading from the stomach to the heart. In the afternoon, visit local homes, listen to the grandmother’s ancient legends, and experience the purest Tibetan life.

At dusk, smoke curls up from cooking fires, the sunset gilds the valley edges, and all is silent except for the sound of wind blowing the prayer flags. At this moment, time seems to stand still.

No need to wait for the snow season; Western Sichuan in October is already stunning enough. Come to Jiaju Tibetan Village and encounter a gentle autumn dream.
