Long Hua Temple, Philippines

Long Hua Temple, also known as Lon Wa Buddhist Temple, is one of the largest Buddhist temples in the Philippines and the biggest on the island of Mindanao. Located in the Agdao District of Davao City, it is about 3-4 kilometers northeast of the city center along Cabagiuo Avenue.

The temple is a significant cultural and religious site, serving as a convent for monks and nuns of the Philippine Academy of Sakya, a Buddhist movement. It is a place of worship for Chinese residents and visitors, and a popular tourist attraction³. The temple's architecture is a blend of traditional Chinese design with modern elements. Visitors are greeted by a smiling Fortune Buddha statue in the middle of a lily pond, which is said to grant wishes. The temple grounds are adorned with manicured gardens, stone statues of monks, and a monument containing the ashes of the temple's founder.

Inside, the main prayer hall is simplistic yet elegant, with Italian marble slabs and ornate wood carvings along the walls. Visitors can also find the temple of the Thousand-Armed Kuan Yin, the goddess of compassion and mercy. The temple's serene environment and beautiful architecture make it a peaceful retreat for both worshippers and tourists alike.

Have you ever visited a temple with such a unique blend of cultural and religious significance?
