Walking into Dazaifu feels like stepping through a corridor of time, quietly tracing the threads of ancient Japanese culture.
The approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is lined with the fragrance of plum blossoms. The red and white flowers resemble lines of ancient poetry, unfolding one by one before your eyes. The shrine's vermilion torii gate stands solemnly, offering solace to countless visitors seeking blessings. I gently touched the head of the sacred cow statue, silently making a wish with reverence, as if sensing the tranquility of the universe and the protection of the divine.
In the afternoon, I strolled to the Kyushu National Museum, where the towering modern architecture seamlessly blends with the surrounding forest. Inside, the museum is like a treasure chest of time, showcasing the profound cultural exchanges of East Asia.
On this day, I was moved by the solemnity of faith and found rare moments of leisure and reflection amidst the intertwining of nature and history.
