Relaxing Family Getaway at Mission Hills Resort

This National Day Golden Week, I wanted to avoid the crowds, so I didn't go to the hotspots of Shenzhen. I chose the Guanlan Lake Resort Hotel in Dongguan. The whole holiday was super relaxing, and it was definitely a good place for a family vacation. The hotel is only about 45 minutes by car from Shenzhen Bay. The transportation is very convenient. The hotel upgraded from the lake view room, open the window and look out is the unbeatable view, fresh air, away from the hustle and bustle, three days and two nights spent very comfortable.

The hotel environment is amazing, nestled within a quiet natural scenic area, surrounded by mountains, the whole atmosphere is very chill. The location of Linping Road in Tai Ping is close to the highway intersection. It is smooth to drive through and you will not get lost. It is especially suitable for relaxing with children without fear of the noise of the big city. Although the hotel's exterior and facilities have a sense of age, the design style is unique, the rooms are large and bright, the decoration is simple and comfortable, and the balcony view of the lake is really super healing.

The parent-child facility must be recommended, it has a large pool, children’s playground, mini golf and many entertainment facilities for even children who can’t swim. The buffet has a lot of choices, hot and cold dishes, desserts and noodles, everything is quite good value for money, and every meal is full. Trip tip: If the holidays come over, remember to book the facilities and restaurants in advance so you don’t have to fight for a seat.

If you pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene, this hotel does a good job. The rooms are cleaned by a dedicated person every day, there is no strange smell, the bedding is clean, the bathroom facilities are relatively new, and the swimming pool is regularly maintained. But be reminded, if you are more concerned about the newness of the facilities, some customers have mentioned that some rooms are a bit old, some furniture has slight traces. However, the hotel maintenance is in place, which will not affect the comfort of the stay.

In terms of service, the front desk was very polite when upgrading the room type and would help solve any problems. However, during individual morning rush hours, the staff smiles can be more friendly. Travelers suggested that the service attitude would be closer to the five-star requirement if it could be more proactive and enthusiastic. Overall, the environment is comfortable and facilities are complete. Except for minor disadvantages, it is really a holiday feeling.

In terms of surrounding attractions, the hotel is next to the Guanlan Lake Golf Course, and the nature hiking trail.

Booking Tips: Early booking is recommended for holiday stays, with special family rooms and lake view rooms being more popular. For a beautiful view, it’s best to ask if the hotel can arrange a high-rise or lake-facing room type;use your credit card or third-party platform to search for deals, sometimes with upgrades or breakfast perks.

City Itinerary Recommendation: In addition to resort hotels, Dongguan also has historical and cultural attractions and handicraft workshops. If you have enough time, you can arrange a day trip to the city to experience the local culture.
