Dujiangyan A 2200 year old Masterpiece of Engineering!

Dujiangyan in Chengdu, Sichuan, was an unforgettable experience. I had always heard about its reputation as one of China’s greatest ancient engineering wonders, but seeing it in person was truly awe-inspiring. It built over 2,200 years ago during the Qin Dynasty by Li Bing and his son, it is the world’s oldest and only existing no-dam irrigation system. What amazed me the most was how it still functions today, supplying water to millions of people in Sichuan—a testament to the brilliance of ancient Chinese engineering!🙀

One of the highlights of my trip was walking across the Anlan Suspension Bridge. Standing there, I could feel the gentle breeze from the Min River below while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding Qingcheng Mountain, a sacred Taoist site. The peacefulness of the scenery made me pause and truly appreciate the harmony between nature and human innovation.

Beyond its impressive irrigation system, Dujiangyan is also rich in history and culture. Walking through the area, I saw ancient temples, inscriptions, and statues of Li Bing, all reflecting the deep heritage of this place. Whether you love history, nature, or simply exploring unique destinations, Dujiangyan is a must-visit!#discoverchina
