Dean Village. A quaint old mill town within walking distance of Edinburgh

We all know that Edinburgh is a city of historic and cultural significance. But some of the little gems and wonders to be discovered still surprise me - but in a good way!

I uncovered Dean Village, located immediately northwest of Edinburgh. Wow. What a beautiful village.

Formerly a mill town, this village has preserved the beautiful vibes and architecture on the banks of the waters of Leith. Its beautiful stone buildings, vibrant colours and setting within nature will take your breath away.

Taking a stroll alongside the river bank, I couldn’t help but stop many a time to take in the views and admire the scenery on display. This village is perfectly accessible and with it being just a stones throw from Edinburgh, it’s the perfect place to get some peace and serenity. True, this place is becoming increasingly popular. But there’s a perfectly good reason for that. Sometimes, you’ve just got to get on board!
