Highlights of my recent trip to Scotland

From left to right
Glencoe
A popular ski resort in winter. This is the great outdoors and it is a paradise for hiking, backpacking and mountaineering enthusiasts. This was just a short stop on our return from Fort William.

Loch Ness
Stunning scenery with a wide range of walks available for the hiking and rambling enthusiast. There is also a beach next to the Nessie Hunter station. No sign of the Loch Ness monster. Boat trips available.

Edinburgh
Capital of Scotland and so much to see and do. Explore the old city on foot. You can join one of the many guided walking tours. If you fancy an extension to your walk a visit to Dean village is highly recommended. Very picturesque and the walk along the river will allow you to find out more about the history of the area.

The Botanical gardens

I took a stroll through the botanical gardens and I was impressed by the colourful plants that I encountered on my walk. Very peaceful and well maintained. I hope to return some time.

Leith is well worth a visit. You can get there either by bus or taking the tram. We walked there from Dean Village. There are some fine ships berthed in the harbour. The area is home to many pubs and seafood restaurants, as well as the famous Royal Yacht Britannia.
