Pengjiazhai | Enshi This ethnic minority village is really unpopular!

Pengjiazhai is located in Lianghekou Village, Shadaogou Town, Xuanen County, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
Pengjiazhai is an outstanding example of Tujia settlement in the Wuling Mountains. The layout of the village is ingenious, with the public courtyard dam and the wind and rain bridge as the core radiation. The clusters of stilted buildings are built along the mountain, arranged in an orderly manner at the foot of Guanyin Mountain. The rice fields in front of them complement the Longtan River, and the iron cable bridge spans it. On the left and right sides, the call ditch and the fork ditch meander, between which a pavilion bridge that has been weathered for hundreds of years quietly tells the story of the past. Behind the village is a bamboo forest, with a row of barbecue cellars lying in between, while the east side is the resting place of the Peng family.

The Poker Gallery Bridge
An ethnic bridge, with its Silankapu motifs hanging on it, has become a popular place for tourists to take photos. Strolling on it, you feel like you are walking through the vivid ethnic paintings.

Tujia stilted buildings:
Although it is not as grand as Guizhou Miao Village or Fenghuang Ancient City, its rich atmosphere of life makes people feel more friendly. The figure of the indigenous people busy in the stilt building, the smoke rising from the kitchen.

Mo Xiaolou
With its unique mortise and tenon structure and grandeur, this 20-plus-story earthen building has become the center of the Tujia people’s spiritual beliefs. The building is based on a triangular prism, which rotates moderately, showing an excellent viewing view facing Pengjiazhai. With a height of 79 meters and a total building area of 1,000 square meters, its design cleverly combines the concept of "Kowloon Unity" with the artistic beauty of the wooden grille facade. In July 2021, it was awarded the ADA Asian Design Award of the Year.

Wuling Ganlan Museum
A free and open temple of architectural art has unveiled the mystery of Tujia architecture for visitors. Here, you can gain an in-depth understanding of the structure and wisdom of Tujia architecture, especially suitable for parent-child travel, allowing children to learn and grow in play.

Enshi Railway Station: Enshi Passenger Terminal ➡ Shadaogou Town, 90 minutes drive. Or ➡ Xuan'en County City Bus Terminal, then take the shuttle bus to Shadaogou Town, about 60 minutes to.
Driving: From Enshi Station, 93 km, drive about 80 minutes, navigate directly to [Pengjiazhai Tourist Scenic Area-Show Street], get off the parking lot, along the pedestrian street forward, the bridge is the ticket office.

The attractions in Enshi are scattered and the distance is long. It is recommended that you choose to carpool or charter a car to set off.
