Shizuoka, a tranquil city, offers a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji as soon as you arrive. Traveling from Chubu Airport to Shizuoka Station via Shinkansen doesn’t take much time, and stepping off the train, you’re greeted by the refreshing atmosphere of mountains, forests, and Japan’s winter season. It’s an oddly comforting experience, even as I still had the task of finding my way to the hotel. On the train ride to Shizuoka, Mount Fuji stood majestically, partially hidden by clouds, waiting for visitors to step out of the train car. There are numerous spots to admire Mount Fuji, and I chose Kawaguchiko as my destination. The journey involved a bus ride with 21 stops starting from Gotemba Station. Though lengthy, this bus ride offered me a panoramic view of Mount Fuji.
After completing my Mount Fuji exploration, I headed to Nagoya to visit Nagoya Castle, stroll through the wisteria flower park, and enjoy traditional local dishes at a small eatery. I savored Gyoza and stir-fried Ramen ^^. This journey concluded with the experience of chasing Mount Fuji and appreciating the nostalgic beauty of Japan, the land of pear blossoms. Thank you, Mount Fuji, and see you again during the cherry blossom season.
