Only a couple of hours from Tokyo, Kawaguchiko is one of the best places to admire Mount Fuji—up close, picture-perfect, and peaceful.
🚉 How to Get There
From Tokyo: Take the JR Chuo Line to Otsuki, then transfer to the Fujikyu Railway to Kawaguchiko Station.
Tip: Sit on the left side of the train for Fuji views!
📸 Best Mt. Fuji Viewpoints
Chureito Pagoda: Iconic shot of Fuji behind a red pagoda—stairs involved, but so worth it.
Lake Kawaguchi Lakeside Promenade: Serene stroll with Fuji towering in the background.
Mt. Tenjo Ropeway: Quick cable car ride + panoramic Fuji views from above.
🍡 What Else to Do
Visit Oishi Park: Flowers bloom here all year round—great for relaxed Fuji photos.
Try Houtou Noodles: A hearty Yamanashi specialty, perfect if it gets chilly.
Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum: A quirky mix of gardens, vintage instruments & views.
Onsen with a View: Several ryokans and day-use baths offer Fuji-facing hot springs.
📅 When to Go
Autumn (Oct–Nov): Red leaves + clear skies.
Winter (Dec–Feb): Best visibility of Fuji, snow-capped and majestic.
Spring (Apr): Cherry blossoms and Mt. Fuji in one frame.
Summer: Lush greenery and warm lake vibes.
Pro tip: Mt. Fuji is shy—go early in the morning for your best chance of a clear view! ☀️
