Fukuoka's Backyard

Traveling to Japan isn't just about shopping and eating; taking a moment to slow down and appreciate the scenery is equally rewarding. This time, I visited Kushida Shrine and Ohori Park on my own.

Since my hotel was near Nakasu-Kawabata Station, it was just a short walk to Kushida Shrine, so I decided to check it out. Kushida Shrine is a place to pray for peace and safety. During my visit, it was quite empty, with only a local tour group around. Hopefully, with so few people, the gods will hear my wishes 🙏🏻

Near Kushida Shrine, there's also a shopping street with more everyday items. I stumbled upon a shop selling nostalgic snacks, which brought back many memories. I couldn't resist picking up a chocolate glasses snack and snapping a photo 🙈

After that, I headed to Canal City Hakata. I was particularly drawn to the eyewear shops here because not only did they have a wide variety of styles, but the prices were also half of what I expected 😆

Ohori Park is another great spot for relaxation. Located near Ohori Park Station, the park is quite large, and I recommend renting a bike instead of walking like I did 🙈🙈. The park is home to various birds, and the water is so clear you can see them catching fish 😆. While you're there, don't forget to visit the museum to cool off and learn something new 💗
