Fukuoka Tourism 2023 "Sumiyoshi Shrine"

While sightseeing in Fukuoka, I visited the tourist attraction "Sumiyoshi Shrine".
"Sumiyoshi Shrine" is a shrine located in Sumiyoshi 3-chome, Hakata Ward. It is an old shrine said to have been founded in 927, and has been revered by the Imperial Court as the Ichinomiya of Chikuzen Province.
It is about a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station, so it is a little far away, but it is a shrine surrounded by a quiet atmosphere.
It is said to be one of the "Three Great Sumiyoshi Shrines of Japan" along with Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine in Osaka and Sumiyoshi Shrine in Shimonoseki. The vermilion-painted main hall, which was rebuilt with a donation of 2,000 ryo of silver and lumber by Kuroda Nagamasa, was vivid.
Although it is not a very large shrine, the vermilion construction of the worship hall and shrine gate creates a very sacred atmosphere.
Many shrines are enshrined within the grounds, including Mikka Ebisu Shrine and Arakuma-Shirohige Inari Shrine. It is a quiet shrine that calms the mind. It is worth a visit!
