Swiss Autumn Fairy Tale Road Trip

Chasing Autumn in Switzerland|2-Day Self-Drive Tour in Zweisimmen 🍁

When the golden sunlight lights up the entire Bernese Highlands, you realize how stunning autumn in Switzerland truly is! The small town of Zweisimmen, hidden deep in the Alps, is like an autumn fairyland straight out of a storybook✨

🚗 Itinerary Day 1
Head straight to Grydenbüel Street in the town center, where the golden linden trees on both sides are incredibly photogenic~ For lunch, try the authentic cheese fondue at Restaurant Bahnhof (Address: Bahnhofstrasse 1), conveniently located right opposite the train station!

In the afternoon, take a stroll around the outskirts of the town and pass by many charming wooden houses. Highly recommend the Rosengarten viewpoint, where you can overlook the entire valley’s spectacular red foliage🍂

Day 2
A 20-minute drive takes you to the Gemmi cable car station (Address: Gemmistrasse 14). After taking the cable car up the mountain, remember to wear non-slip shoes! The autumn colors combined with the snowy peaks at the summit are absolutely breathtaking~ On the way back, stop by the town’s chocolate workshop Chäs & Schoggi (Address: Dorfstrasse 6) for freshly made handmade chocolates that easily beat supermarket brands!

📸 Photo Tips:
▪️ Early morning between 8-9 AM when the sunlight slants is the best time to capture the town in morning mist
▪️ Wearing camel or off-white tones makes photos stand out the most
▪️ Don’t forget to bring a telephoto lens to capture the golden mountain views in the distance

💡 Travel Tips:
1. The town is mostly walkable, so comfortable flat shoes are recommended
2. Temperatures in the mountains can drop suddenly after October, so bring a windproof jacket
3. Local guesthouse owners say late September to mid-October is the peak time for autumn colors
