Surabaya: A Glimpse into Colonial Grandeur at Hotel Majapahit MGallery 🏨✨

#summervacay
I recently had the chance to stay at the Hotel Majapahit MGallery in Surabaya, a place famously rumored to have hosted Charlie Chaplin! Here's my honest, no-frills review of this historic gem.

Dating back to 1910, the hotel is a stunning example of Dutch colonial architecture. The moment you step in, you're greeted by elegant white archways leading into lush tropical gardens. Seriously, every corner feels like it's straight out of a classic movie scene.

What I Loved About My Stay:

Unbeatable Location: The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the city's bustling area. This made finding places to eat incredibly easy and convenient. I particularly enjoyed the ice cream shop directly opposite the hotel – it was both delicious and affordable!

Peaceful Rooms: Despite being in such a lively urban area, my room was wonderfully quiet. All the rooms face the serene garden, not the street, so sleeping undisturbed at night was no problem at all.

Photography Paradise: This place is a dream for photos! The gardens, corridors, fountains, and pool all possess a natural, built-in retro filter. I found myself constantly snapping pictures; there were just too many beautiful spots to capture.

For around S$90 a night (based on the "300+ per person" which likely refers to RMB), staying in such a historically rich and visually stunning hotel right in the city center was an exceptional experience.
