Nestled within the Daereungwon Tomb Complex in Gyeongju, Cheonmachong (Heavenly Horse Tomb) is one of Korea’s most fascinating archaeological treasures. This royal burial mound, dating back to the 5th–6th century Silla Dynasty, was discovered in 1973, revealing over 10,000 artifacts that showcased the wealth and artistry of ancient Korea.

Inside, visitors can see replicas of the stunning gold crowns, ornaments, weapons, and the famous Heavenly Horse painting that gave the tomb its name. The tomb itself is built from wood and stone, then covered with earth, forming the iconic grass mound that blends harmoniously with the park’s serene landscape. 🌿

Walking into Cheonmachong is like stepping back into Silla’s golden age, where history and legend come alive under the quiet green hills of Gyeongju.
