From Shinjuku, Tokyo, you can reach Hakone in about 1.5 hours at the fastest🚅
If you depart from Shinjuku, it is recommended to purchase the Hakone Freepass, which comes in 2-day and 3-day passes. In addition to the round-trip train ticket from Shinjuku to Hakone, the pass also includes most of the transportation in Hakone (aerial cable car, mountain cable car, pirate sightseeing ship, mountain bus), allowing you to experience Hakone in different ways. Because I wanted to sit more comfortably and save time, I bought an extra "Odakyu Express" ticket (1,200 yen), which takes only 80 minutes to reach Hakone Yumoto Station🚅

Many people would choose to take a two-day and one-night trip to Hakone, because Hakone is also a hot spring resort, but because it is summer, I didn’t plan to stay in Hakone for a night, but went directly back to Tokyo city 🏯.
