Hanoi 🇻🇳 Thang Long Imperial Citadel

#AprilGoodDestinations2025

Compared to the bustling Hoan Kiem Lake, Thang Long Imperial Citadel is one of the quietest but most profound places in Hanoi. It is the site of the royal palace of successive dynasties in Vietnam and has a history of nearly a thousand years. Although only some ancient walls and gatehouses are left now, you can really feel the heaviness of the years when you walk in. The North Gate, the Jingtian Hall, and the archaeological site area, every stone brick seems to be telling a story.

The yard is very large and shaded by trees, making it a great place to stroll around and take great photos of the buildings. There are not many people and it is not noisy, which is very suitable for friends who like history or cultural atmosphere. The ticket price is 30,000 VND. It is closed on Mondays. It is recommended to go in the morning or evening to avoid the hottest time.
