I went to Zhaolin Park yesterday to see the ice lanterns, and it felt like 80% of the people were locals (yes, locals all come here to see the ice sculptures. The Ice Lantern Fair has a long history, is free, and is of a very high standard. It is a childhood memory, and I’m so afraid that if it becomes popular, there will be nothing left to see). Erbin, your ice sculptures are really something.

There are an ice maze and several ice slides in the park. Many children lined up to slide down the slides holding plastic butt pads (some even broke the pads when sitting on them, haha). In addition to the ice sculptures, there are also several snow sculptures that are also very well carved.
The ice lanterns light up around 4 p.m.
16:00-17:00 is the best time to take photos when it is almost dark!
