Once in a lifetime, you should visit Harbin, the city with the most beautiful snow in China, but it comes with very cold weather.
Travel: Choose a connecting flight, transfer at Guangzhou, and then fly to Harbin. Round-trip tickets cost around 14,000-15,000 THB.
Day 1: Arrive in Harbin and check into accommodation near Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) because a friend is studying Chinese there. In the evening, stroll around Zhongyang Street, which has many shops selling food and winter gear. It's recommended to buy winter gear here as it's cheaper and warmer than what you can get in Thailand. Saint Sophia Cathedral is very photogenic in the evening. We mainly travel by taxi since there are three of us, and the meter fare is not expensive. P.S. There are many affordable restaurants in the university area.
Day 2: Travel to Changbai Mountain. Take a high-speed train and then a bus (6-7 hours) to the accommodation. It's recommended to book a one-day tour to Changbai Mountain with the accommodation, as they can help arrange a local driver at a reasonable price. In the evening, stroll around the accommodation area and rest for the next day.
Day 3: Go on a one-day tour. In the morning, the tour takes you to a snow and frost rafting experience near Changbai Mountain, similar to white-water rafting. Then, visit the highlight, Changbai Mountain, which borders China and North Korea. There is a path to Tianchi Lake or Heaven Lake. If the weather is good, you can see the beautiful lake view on the mountain. (You can arrange the time and place with the driver.) After the tour, return to the hotel as it has been a cold day.
Day 4: Take a high-speed train back to Harbin, check into the accommodation, and relax. You can stroll around Sun Island Park or Zhongyang Street in the evening to buy souvenirs before heading back.
Day 5: In the morning, visit Harbin Grand Theatre, a beautiful architectural site, for some photos. Travel by taxi or Didi as usual. If you have time, you can also stroll around Songhua River. In the evening, catch a flight back to Thailand.
