📍Toyokuni Shrine (Senjokaku), Hiroshima
A historic shrine in Miyajima founded in 1587. Construction was started by Ankokuji Ekei at the command of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, but it remains unfinished to this day due to Hideyoshi's sudden death. If tatami mats were laid out, it would be 857 tatami mats, and it is commonly called "Senjokaku" due to its large scale. The roof tiles are gold leafed, so it is said that if it had been completed, it would have been a large sutra hall incorporating the luxurious Momoyama culture. There are almost no ceilings or walls, and the structural materials are left exposed, creating a unique sense of openness. There is a five-story pagoda nearby, and you can see Itsukushima Shrine from the shrine. You can also sit down and take a break. Add some excitement to your daily life: 🌙 📍 Toyokuni Shrine (Senjokaku) 📮 1-1 Miyajimacho, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture 👛 300 yen 🕚 8:30-16:30
