I went to Hikone Castle, the symbol of Hikone. It is a castle designated as a national treasure. It feels like the Edo period. It is one of the best-preserved castles in Japan, and most of it is still as it was at the time. The grounds are larger than you would imagine. It takes about an hour to explore. First, the moat. The moat that surrounds Hikone Castle is very beautiful and full of greenery. You can also take a tour of the moat on a houseboat. The road to Hikone Castle is surprisingly steep. The structure is designed to make it difficult for enemies to attack immediately. You can also enter the castle tower. Admission ticket: Adults ¥800, Children ¥200 Take off your shoes and enter the castle. The stairs are surprisingly steep! It may be a bit difficult for those with children or the elderly. There are various exhibits that give you a sense of what life was like at the time.
When you go up to the top floor, you can see a wonderful view of the city✨
It was a great trip to feel the history✨
