Hoi An is an amazing little town you must visit if you go to Vietnam. One full day is enough to soak it all in but you’ll want to follow a smart itinerary to make sure you don’t miss any of its highlights. 🌴🏛🏮
🌴 Morning – Coconut Boats
We kicked off the day with a ride on the famous coconut boats with Ben Dua — super fun, peaceful, and the spins on the water are a must-try! 🌀. I paid 220,000 VND for this tour.
The tour includes:
• 🛶 1 hour in a coconut boat
• 🎭 Coconut boat show (a guy spinning a boat)
• 🦀 Crab fishing
• 🚐 Hotel pick-up & drop-off
💡 Small tip: Book a tour in advance to avoid haggling.
🏛 Afternoon – Ancient Town Walk
Get lost in the charm of Hoi An’s Ancient Town: yellow walls, colorful lanterns, cozy cafés, and tailor shops everywhere. Just wandering feels like stepping back in time. ⏳
Don’t miss the Japanese Bridge 🇯🇵 and the cute local shops around it!
🏮 Evening – Lantern Boats
As the sun sets, the Thu Bon River comes alive with hundreds of glowing lanterns. ✨ Hop on a boat, release your own wish lantern, and enjoy the dreamy reflections on the water.
💡 Don’t get scammed:
• 🏮 Lanterns → should cost no more than 10,000 VND each. Vendors may try charging 50,000–100,000 VND (or more)—don’t pay it!
• 🚤 Boats → always go to the official ticket counters (look for the red sign with yellow letters). Prices are fixed: 170,000 VND (1–3 people), 220,000 VND (4–5 people). This way you avoid overpaying and haggling.
