The Hong Kong Maritime Museum is located at Central Pier 8, with free admission, showcasing the maritime history of Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta.
Exhibition Highlights: The permanent exhibition covers 15 galleries, displaying over 1,200 artifacts, such as Han Dynasty ceramic ship models and the 19th-century painting "Pacifying the South China Sea," which records the history of pirate suppression; the "Maritime Silk Road" exhibit showcases trade culture from the Song to Qing dynasties; an interactive ship bridge simulator lets visitors experience the joy of sailing; the "Marine Conservation" exhibition combines VR technology to explore underwater ecology.
Special exhibitions like "Nautical Maps and Ancient Books" display 80 rare maps and 50 late Qing dynasty books, revealing the fusion of Eastern and Western maritime cultures.
A 15-minute walk from Central Station Exit A, it is recommended to visit in the morning and allow 2 hours, avoiding the first two days of Lunar New Year when the museum is closed. The top-floor café offers views of Victoria Harbour, perfect for family outings!
