Tsz Shan Monastery is a Buddhist temple on a hill in Tai Po, Hong Kong, featuring a 76-meter tall statue of Guanyin. The atmosphere is very peaceful.
You must book online in advance. There is no entrance fee, but bookings open only one month in advance.
Opening hours: 09:30–17:00 (closed on Wednesdays)
However, the museum is closed on certain days. It’s recommended to check carefully before booking.
How to get there:
• Take the MTR to Tai Po Market Station, Exit A3
• Then take a taxi (~15 minutes) or bus NR532
Personally, we recommend sharing a taxi or calling an Uber. The fare is about 70 HKD because the bus wait time is quite long. We took a taxi both times we visited. There is a taxi stand at the MTR exit.
Please dress modestly here: shoulders and knees must be covered. No tank tops, shorts, or short skirts allowed.
